Benard Hargreaves Ouma was born on January 16, 2002, in Migori, Kenya. He is an esteemed writer, editor, and cultural advocate known for his visionary leadership and dedication to societal development. Ouma is a final-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Education (Arts) in English and Literature at Egerton University. Ouma serves as a senior debating and public speaking coach for the Motion Movers Club. He has also taught at Solian Girls' High School and Esageri A.I.C. Comprehensive School. Additionally, he is a contributor to Qwani, an online publisher.
A passionate advocate of Pan-Africanism, good governance, and cultural values, he believes in "rewriting our own history" as a pathway to Africa's second liberation. This conviction guides his literary and activist pursuits. Ouma's leadership qualities have earned him the prestigious Best Campus Representative of the Year Award for 2024/2025, recognizing his influence among university students nationwide. He is a member of the United World of Literature Organization and serves as Kenya's coordinator of the Concern Writers and Publishers Foundation, Nigeria.
Additionally, he is the founder of the Afrowriters Association, dedicated to empowering emerging African writers. His literary works include poetry, novels, short stories, biographies, and essays, with his poetry featured in the Kenya Music Festivals of 2024 and 2025.
